Tell us about your self-employment journey.
I started in Online Business Management as a side project that proved to be more than just financially rewarding. The actual compensation was seeing women achieve impactful career growth, helping with their aspirations and being inspired by their perseverance. After surpassing my corporate income, I left the corporate world with a determined mindset and courageous spirit.
What’s the most valuable thing you learned early in your career that has contributed to your success?
As an entrepreneur and a woman, I genuinely believe that to help others achieve greatness, I have to take care of myself. Having a successful business does not mean taking on as many projects as I can. It means that I have to be dedicated to my business during business hours and know that it’s okay to take a day off and take care of myself.
How are you pivoting your business during the COVID-19 pandemic?
COVID-19 has shown small businesses that having an online presence is a must. Most of my clients weren’t prepared for the surge of online traffic to their small online businesses. To support them, I’ve set up the backend of their businesses and am educating my clients with a new mentorship program.
What’s a recent project that you’ve worked on that you’re really excited about?
The most recent project was to help a client launch a successful mentorship program with a high ROI. Setting up everything in her Kajabi was so rewarding. Taking the time to plan every step, setting up her educational material, and seeing it flourish brought excitement and joy to my every day.
Are you a part of any freelancer communities?
My top three FB communities are:
All of these communities support me in more than one way. They provide knowledge, new client opportunities, and most importantly, offer support when you feel as if no one understands you or just need words of encouragement.
What advice would you give other self-employed people?
Find a community that will support you when you doubt yourself. Entrepreneurship can get lonely and you need to surround yourself with like-minded people.
How has forming an S Corp helped you level up your business?
Regarding my personal and business life, I like to keep them separate and having an S Corp gives me that privacy and personal asset protection.
When it comes to my clients, this same concept is a must. I want to give them the peace of mind that they have complete privacy and their business assets are safe with me.
